2011 NCAA Basketball Championship Betting Lines
The 2010 – 2011 NCAA college basketball season is almost among us, and it’s time to start looking at which teams have a shot at winning the National Championship. With many players declaring for the NBA this season there have been plenty of changes to the top teams. For this exact reason, Kentucky is no longer a favorite heading into the 2010-2011 NCAA basketball season. Duke is the current odds on leader to win the title again, but generally the same team doesn’t win two years in a row and it’ll be hard for me to put my money on them repeating. Let’s take a look at the latest NCAA basketball championship lines available at some of the best online sports betting sites.
Duke +600
Duke has had a great off-season and I’m sure fans couldn’t be happier about Kyle Singler returning. Singler had a great season last year finishing with an average of 17.7 points and 7 rebounds a game. He turned up the heat to finish off the season last year as well and ended the Championship Game with 19 points and 9 rebounds, both slightly above his season average. Seth Curry will also be eligible to play this season after transferring from Liberty and sitting out last season. Duke also has the Plumlee brothers up front this season and several new standout recruits including Kyrie Irving and Andre Dawkins.
Michigan State +700
Michigan States made it to the final four last year, but lost to Butler and couldn’t advance to the finals. This year looks promising in Michigan and I’m putting my money on them this season. They have 4 out of 5 starters returning this season including Kalin Lucas and Durrell Summers. Tom Izzo is arguably one of the best coaches in the nation as well and having him on the bench is always an advantage for Michigan State. With plenty of new young talent including 4 top 150 recruits, there is no reason why Michigan State shouldn’t make a run to the Final Four again.

Kentucky +1500
The Kentucky Wildcats lost their entire team to the NBA this season basically and will need to recruit an entire new starting roster if they plan on having a chance to win. I personally don’t think Kentucky will make it to the Final Four this season simply because they won’t have any chemistry. I always prefer teams that have been together for 2-3 seasons and that’s something that we won’t see in Kentucky for a while. Kentucky has done another great job recruiting and already has commitments from Michael Gilchrist, Marquis Teague and Anthony Davis all of whom are at the top of the recruiting class this season.
Purdue +800
If Purdue can avoid injuries this season then they definitely have a great chance at winning the National Championship this season. They have several starters returning including JaJuan Johnson, Robbie Hummell and E’Twaun Moore. Chris Kramer graduated last season, which is a shame for Purdue fans, but I’m sure Purdue will be a competitive team this season even without him. They have several new recruits that should help take some of the pressure of the big three. I can definitely see them winning the Big Ten this season and could make a strong push for the title come March if they’re healthy.
