Montreal Canadiens vs Philadelphia Flyers Odds
*Winner – Flyers won 3-2.
The Philadelphia Flyers (12-6-2) host the Montreal Canadiens (12-6-1) on Monday, November 22nd. The two teams are on top of their respective divisions at the moment, which means we should be in for a great hockey game. These teams just played each other in Montreal this past Tuesday and the Canadiens won 3-0. There is definitely going to be a revenge factor in this game amongst eastern conference heavyweights and I expect the Flyers to come out hungry at home. We’ll update this page with the latest betting lines as soon as they’re posted.
The only game that Montreal will play before this game is on Saturday against the Maple Leafs. Montreal and Toronto have a bitter rivalry, which means the Canadiens will most likely use a ton of energy in that game and may come out a bit flat on the road against the Flyers on a Monday night. Philadelphia will play the Capitals on Saturday in a tough game on the road, but they’ll definitely be glad to be coming home after that game.
Tonight the Flyers played against the Lightning and it was an absolutely crazy hockey game that the Lightning ended up winning by the score of 8-7. It isn’t very often that you get to see 15 goals in a single hockey game, but when you do it’s always a treat. It was good to see the Flyers scoring goals, but they didn’t have any defense at all in this game and will need to work on that over the weekend. Philadelphia’s goals came from a bunch of different players as well so the team is definitely spreading out the puck.
Montreal lost 3-0 against Nashville tonight and just couldn’t put much offense together. They still managed to get 30 shots in the game, but there really weren’t that many offensive chances. It seems that the Predators have the Canadiens number in recent meetings and I’m sure it won’t affect them heading into their next few games. Montreal will be finishing a home stand this weekend against the Leafs, so it’ll be important for them to grab the win to gain some momentum before going on the road.
There is no doubt that Carey Price and the Canadiens have been playing great defense this past month. They haven’t given up more then 3 goals in a game this month and it’s helped them to a 5-3 record. Montreal already beat the Flyers with defense, but that was on their own rink and now they need to try and do the same while playing in Philadelphia. The Flyers have a stellar 8-4 record at home this season, so it isn’t going to be easy to beat the Flyers at home. The Canadiens are one team that could definitely do it though, as they have a 6-2 record on the road this season.
This is definitely a pretty close match-up and it could go either way on Monday, but I’m going to go with the Flyers. They’ve been great at home this season and I don’t think they’ve forgotten about losing 3-0 in Montreal on Tuesday. It should be a good, hard fought game, that ends with a score of 3-2 or 4-3 for the Flyers.
