Brett Favre Back for 2010-2011
Brett Favre has announced at a press conference on Thursday that he will be back in purple and gold this season. Favre will be turning 41 in October and has just had surgery to repair an injured ankle, but he feels ready to play. The Minnesota Vikings also want Favre back for one more season, as they feel they have a Superbowl ready team this season.

Three players from the Vikings, Ryan Longwell, Jared Allen and Steve Hutchinson recently took a trip to Favre’s home. The three players told Favre that they would like him to come back for one more season if he feels his ankle is in good shape. Favre thought it over and decided that it would be in his team’s best interest if he would come back for one more season.
Minnesota Vikings decided that they would give Brett Favre a chance to continue his football career last season and he made the best of the opportunity given to him. The Vikings went 12-4 last season and finished in 1st place in the NFC North ahead of their rivals Green Bay who finished with an 11-5 record.

Favre had one of the best seasons of his career and put up some amazing numbers. He threw for 4202 yards, 33 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions the entire season. Brett’s 7 interceptions was the least he has ever thrown in a full season and his passer rating of 107.2 was also the best in his lengthy career.
This will be the 20th season for Favre and it should be his last season, but you just never know with him. In order for Favre to make a Superbowl run this season with the Vikings several important factors need to fall into place. The biggest question right now is whether or not Favre will be able to play all 16 games this season.
The ankle may be holding up at the moment, but Favre has even said that there is bone spur growing in his ankle again. If he takes a few big hits this season and his ankle gets injured again then any chance of a Superbowl will be down the drain. If he doesn’t injure his ankle this season there are still other questions that need to be looked at.
Favre had an amazing season last year and it’s going to be hard to replicate the same stats he had last year. He doesn’t need to have as good as stats as last year, but he also can’t have a huge drop-off in production either. This season is going to be very interesting in Minnesota and it should be exciting to watch the season progress.
Minnesota will take on the Saints in the 1st game of the season on September 9th 2010 and are currently 4-point underdogs. With the news of Favre being in the line-up the line may start dropping. I think the Saints should win this game, but I’m going to wait until I can get a –2.5 or better line closer to the date of the game.
