The Chicago Bears have won 4 straight, and are 4-1 at home. The Chargers have lost 4 straight, and are 1-3 on the road. Jay Cutler has thrown 11 TD’s and 6 INT’s, while Philip Rivers has thrown 13 TD’s and a league-worst 15 INT’s. The Bears have RB Matt Forte, the Chargers don’t. Forte is a huge playmaker who should have a big game against the Chargers rushing defense who’s given up 127.9 rushing yards per game. This is the key to the game, because Chicago’s passing defense gives up a lot of yards. Look for the Bears to run and run and run, and their passing defense to do ‘enough’ to hold off the Chargers.

Both QB’s will feel the pressure, and the Bears QB Jay Cutler will need to keep his cool. He’s only thrown 6 INT’s all season, but has 4 fumbles as well. If he can keep from turning the ball over more than once, I’m expecting a Bears win by 6+.

I’ve already bet on the Chicago Bears at -3.5 (-110) at BetOnline.com. I expect the Bears to run the ball all night long, keeping the ball out of Rivers’ hands as much as possible, and taking advantage of the weak SD rushing defense. Forte could do some real damage to the Chargers defense and eat a lot of time off the clock.

Flukey events aside, I don’t see the Chargers winning this game. At -190, I like the Bears. I expect them to cover the spread, but with a spread of 3.5 points, a money line bet isn’t a bad idea – just in case it comes down to a field goal.

I have yet to make a decision about betting on the money line, but if I do, it’ll be for the Bears. I don’t see the Chargers winning this road game in Chicago, and +165 for the Chargers isn’t enough value. Imo, Matt Forte is really the key to this game. If he’s as effective as he should be, the Chargers could be in for a long day.
