Personally, I like the Jets for a win by 6+. So, Jets -4.5 for US bettors looks good to me and I’ve already got my bet in. I think the betting lines are going to move towards the Cowboys from now until game time, so if you like the Jets, it’s probably good to get your bets in now. We might see -5 or -5.5, so an early bet at -4.5 looks attractive. This page will update with the latest Jets vs. Cowboys betting lines as they move.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Jets Point Spread

Tony Romo hasn’t played at full speed for close to a year now. Mark Sanchez made it to the AFC Conference Championship game last season. I expect Romo to have some rust, and Sanchez to get off to a good start against a Cowboys defense that has it’s weak spots.

Also playing at home, I’m predicting a New York Jets win by 6 points. I don’t see this as a game coming down to a field goal, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Jets win this by more than a touchdown. I also expect the Cowboys vs. Jets point spread to go against us as we get closer to game time, so it looks like handicappers should get their bets in early. Bettors can get the NY Jets -4.5 -110 at BetOnline right now.

If you prefer the Cowboys and the points, I’d watch the lines to see if the ‘Boys get to somewhere between +5 to +5.5.

Jets vs. Cowboys Money Line

Bettors can get +175 on the Cowboys money line right now, but I think that will improve as the game gets closer. The Jets look good in this game, and I think most handicappers will agree with me. This should push the Cowboys money line to something like +210 to +230.

For the New York Jets, bettors can get -200 at the BetOnline Sportsbook on the money line right now. I think this is as good as we’ll see, and those looking to bet on the Jets should get their bets in now. If I turn out to be right about the line movement, we could see the Jets -250 to -270 as the game gets closer.

Cowboys vs. NY Jets Total (Over/Under) Betting Odds

The over/under on the Cowboys vs. Jets game is currently at 41 -110 at BetOnline. I’m expecting the Jets to put up something like 21-27 points, and the Cowboys to get something like 13 – 17. The 2010-2011 NY Jets allowed 19 PPG during the regular season, and I think a rusty Romo will have a tough time surpassing that average. Can you really see the Cowboys scoring 20 or more in this game? I can’t. As far as I’m concerned, this comes down to Sanchez and the Jets offense against the Cowboys defense who gave up 27.2 PPG last year. Even if they improve this year, I think the Jets offense is good for at least 21 points – up to 27 or possibly even 30. The NY Jets averaged 22.9 last season, and should at least equal that against the Dallas defense.

Realistically, I think this game goes from 21-13 (34 total) to 27-17 (44 total). Based on that, we should lean towards the under. However, if you think the Jets are going to run-away with this one, you might prefer the over.

Personally, I’m taking the under, hoping the Jets defense is dominant against a rusty Romo and Cowboys offense.
